      Absolutely amazing quality of batiste

      I have been searching for a very fine batiste to make whitework embroidered handkerchiefs like that of the 19th Century and I came across Christine’s House of Smocking which has various kinds of batiste that I hardly knew. I wrote to her and our correspondence has been very friendly and insightful about the type of fabric - I’m most delighted to find the right fabric here at the House of Smocking and I have been ordering for sometime now and will do more in the future. The fabrics are of high quality, arrived on time and neatly labelled and packed. The Swiss Batiste is a superfine fabric, the weave is plain and smooth this great base for embroidery. It is my favourite fabric to do whitework embroidery and I am loving it!
