Product Description
Deighton's Silver Smocking Transfer dots show up on light and dark fabrics, they may be difficult to see on heavily patterned fabric
One sheet in each pack, save money when buying more than one sheet
How to use Transfer Dots:
Place the transfer over the wrong side of the material, being careful to put it on accurately and leaving space for a seam.
Iron off the dots, using a moderately hot iron and peeling off the tissue paper immediately behind the iron as it passes along,
if the dots do not iron off then run your iron over the sheet again.
Transfer sheet come in several sizes
Size 'A' 8mm x 9mm 19 rows per sheet
Size 'B' 9mm x 6mm 29 rows per sheet
Size 'G' 5mm x 7mm 23 rows per sheet
Size 'H' 6mm x 9mm 19 rows per sheet
Size 'K' 4mm x 4mm 37 rows per sheet
Size 'O' 3mm x 6mm 28 rows per sheet
Size 'Q' 6mm x 6mm 28 rows per sheet
Sheet size 20 cm x 115 cm (8" x 45" appx)
Will not transfer well on fabrics with a cut spot unless you remove the cut spot because of the uneven surface
See video on how to use these dots
Do not iron off more rows than required as they are not designed to wash off

Smocking dots
They are quite difficult to see on patterned material but then I didn't want them to show through the smocking either!!

Smocking dots
Transfered easily to my fabric. Not sure how easy they are going to be to wash off as they show through the fine fabric

SILVER TRANSFER DOTS
Some sheets seemed to work better than others...dots transferred to fabric really well or hardly at all. Still a useful product though :)

Sew Saturday
Thank you for the speedy delivery and the help given. Smocking workshop a great success. One or two found that some of the dots did not transfer but they felt it was not a problem and they would be more careful next time.

Excellent smocking dots
I had the silver dots, size A, and found them excellent, very even and transferred onto the material with no gaps.
-
Uneven
The transfer was uneven. Instructions would be useful, including ways to remove the dots from fabric after gathering.

smocking dots
This sheet Q has been fine some other sheets have been poor with little or no transfer of the dots onto fabric (sheet B). The dots are easy to work with and the missing ones are easy to work out where they would have been. Except on this particular sheet there were too many missing!! I have been very happy using the dots method.

Smocking Dots
These iron on smocking dots are easy to use even if a few of the dots do not stick or fall off the material, just follow the one above or below. It is still a very labour intensive method of creating the pleats especially when you have a fair few rows to to do but is well worth it in the end.
