Smocked dress pattern
Initially I thought this pattern was expensive. Once I opened it I discovered that each size is a separate pattern - so it will be easy to use the pattern repeatedly as my granddaughter grows. This is my first attempt at smocking and I am still many hours from completing the smocking prior to constructing the dress. The seam allowance is only 1/4 inch unlike British patterns. The yardage requirements seem to be inaccurate - for the 18 months size I had 1m of spare fabric and I was able tomake her another simpler (dress) from this. Glad you are pleased with the pattern, the fabric requirements are in yards and says 2 1/4 (appx 2 metres) for the 18 month at 45" wide. If your fabric is wider say 60" then would would be able to save a lot in fabric. Thanks Christine
